Rosenberger said, “I really enjoy modeling because it has allowed me to become more confident in myself and has also given me the opportunity to meet so many amazing people. I used to be extremely shy and insecure, but after working as a model for almost 3 years now I feel like a completely different person. I am so grateful to be able to work so closely in the fashion industry that I plan on becoming a part of in the future within my career.”

What is Ursula Wiedmann Models? Ursula Weidmann Models is a management agency based in Atlanta, GA. Rosenberger got involved with this agency when she was around 16 years-old. Rosenberger said, “At times, Ursula feels like a second mom to me and she cares for every single one of her models. Even with her agency growing so fast, she still makes the time to work individually with her models and make decisions based on what she knows is best for them and their modeling career. I could not see myself as a part of the modeling industry without her help and guidance.”

How did you get started in the modeling industry? “I had wanted to get into modeling from the age of 13 or 14, but the agency I met with wanted to wait until I was a little older and I got my braces off. After my freshman year I started looking into local agencies that I was interested in, and Ursula Wiedmann Models really stood out to me. A couple of days later I checked my phone after a soccer game and saw that “UWM” requested to follow me on Instagram. I took this as a sign to submit an application to their website. A few days later, I got a response asking me to come in for an interview, and I signed that day!”

What is some advice you would give to aspiring models? “The best advice I could give to any aspiring model is that you can’t take anything that happens in the industry personally. More often than not you’re going to get rejected from castings and jobs, but it’s nothing against you. Clients are just looking for very specific looks to fit their business’ vibe, and if you don’t have that, they’re simply not going to hire you. Eventually, you will come across a job where you have something that others don’t. It can definitely be difficult because sometimes it feels like an attack on your appearance, but I have learned to just move on after each rejection and the hard work will eventually pay off.”

Kendall’s every day makeup tips and products: “Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! Every makeup artist I have ever worked with always mentions how much of a difference sunscreen makes on your skin. Even when it’s raining or cloudy out I still put sunscreen on after I cleanse and moisturize my face (that’s also a tip for glowy skin). As for my makeup, my favorite trick is to put blush where your highlighter and contour would go instead of on the apples of your cheeks. It’s a total game changer when it comes to the illusion of a lifted face.”

A real-life look into the modeling industry: “Modeling honestly isn’t at all what I thought it would be. I would say that 90% of it is constantly working to build your portfolio so that you can be considered for jobs and practicing your walk and taking criticism so you can book runway castings. The biggest thing for models who are just starting is to be constantly testing, which means working with photographers who also need images for their portfolios so you can collaborate and shoot together. Clients look at our portfolios and it is really important that our pictures are up to date and that we look like them. If you show up at a job and don’t look like your pictures it’s a huge problem. That’s why most models wear natural makeup for headshots.”
