Vogue Magazine announces 2024 Met Gala theme

If you know me, you know that the Met Gala is the equivalent to a national holiday to me. We’re officially a week out and today, Vogue Magazine announced the theme of the fashion industry’s most lavish event.

The Garden of Time

The theme this year is “The Garden of Time,” inspired by a 1962 short story by J.G. Ballard about “ the good-looking, sophisticated Count Axel and his wife, who live in a beautiful villa full of rare books, fine paintings, busts and vases,” according to Harper’s BAZAAR.

The Lookbook

I couldn’t think of a more perfect time for a garden party than at spring’s biggest event- the Met Gala. I’m excited to see this year’s guest list, as I can think of a few people that will go all out for the theme, such as the obvious- Harry Styles- and designer Oscar de la Renta, who particularly give me “garden party” vibes.

The Met Gala will be hosted on May 6 at 6 p.m. in New York City and will be livestreamed on Vogue’s YouTube channel.
